James Mangold shares a taste of the Logan score!
With less than two months to go before the 20th Century Fox film hits theaters, director James Mangold has taken to Twitter with a quick tease of the Logan score! Have yourself a listen using the player below and catch the film in theaters March 3.
The Logan score hails from two-time Academy Award nominee Marco Beltrami. Beltrami is no stranger to comic book adaptations, having recently worked with Philip Glass on Fantastic Four and having also provided music for films like The Crow: Salvation, Blade II, Hellboy, and Jonah Hex along with the score for Mangold’s previous take on Marvel‘s ol’ canucklehead, The Wolverine.
Set In the near future, the film follows a weary Logan as he cares for an ailing Professor X in a hideout on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.
Little else is still known about the film’s plot despite its trailer, though we know that the primary villains for the film will include The Reavers as well as Wolverine’s favorite group, Weapon X. The film also has a role for the comics’ Wolverine clone, X-23. She’s played in Logan by Dafne Keen.
Also starring Sir Patrick Stewart, Eriq La Salle, Stephen Merchant, Elise Neal and Elizabeth Rodriguez, Logan is coming to theaters on March 3, 2017. Directed by James Mangold and scripted by David James Kelly, the new film will mark the ninth (and said to be final) time that Jackman has played the Marvel Comics character on the big screen.
